With advance notice, we try our utmost to cater for food allergies. However, as our number one priority is our guests/students safety, we recommend you contact us to discuss your specific dietary needs so that we may determine if the class you are considering is suitable for your requirements.
Our class environment and larder contain a variety of ingredients and therefore no liability is accepted by Kirby’s Atelier de Cuisine for you preparing or consuming foods that are potentially risk foods to you, examples being (and not limited to): gluten/dairy/nuts/seeds/grains and seafood.
Frederick sources the most premium, locally grown/raised ingredients and in the event an ingredient is unavailable on the day this may be substituted for the most suitable option and done so without communication prior to attendance.
Our common practice is for you to enjoy your feast with your peers during the class you have chosen to attend, in the rare event you may take home an item or a purchased item from our retail ‘shoppe’, the owners and staff of Kirby’s Atelier de Cuisine are not responsible for the temperature and safety of how you our guest/customer transfer said item from our venue to your home/work environment and then consume.
Children aged between 14 years and 18 years are welcome however must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to any of our classes. The parent or guardian will be responsible for their safety and conduct at all times.
Children aged 14-18 will pay the same class attendance fee as adults
Kirby’s Atelier de Cuisine will take all necessary care, but accepts no responsibility for the damage to or loss of personal belongings/equipment at our venue during a class or corporate event or left behind on the premises after the event.
It is advised to not bring valuables to a public class, we offer a coat stand and bag hooks however there are not lockers due to space limitations.
Kirby’s Atelier de Cuisine is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items in any form.
If a student does happen to leave an item at Kirby’s, the attendee has 14 days to retrieve the item or make arrangements to do so otherwise Kirby’s will donate it to charity. Personal belongings can be returned to you via Registered Australia Post, at your expense.
Our class attendees or function organiser may be held financially responsible for any damage to or loss of Kirby’s property during the class or event however occasioned, this determination is at the absolute discretion of Kirby’s management. The cost of repairing any damage to Kirby property including but not limited to equipment, crockery, marble benches, stove tops, steam ovens, blast chiller, property/building as a result of inappropriate conduct or misuse will be charged to you personally or company booking a team building event.
User manuals for all small appliances are readily available and Frederick/his team are on hand at all times to demonstrate correct use – please do not hesitate to ask for assistance prior to use.
In the event of a potential hazard you are required to immediately inform Frederick, Jacqueline or a member of the Kirby’s team so that we can ensure yours and all remaining guests safety, the safety of our guests is at all times paramount to our class experience and we invite you to read and become fully aware of the operating instructions of our small appliance range – again, please do not hesitate to ask Frederick for a demonstration of how to safely utilise any equipment on site.
Our back of house ‘Chef’s kitchen & scullery’ remains out of bounds to public guests due to the complex nature of commercial equipment within this space.
It is also an expectation you try your best to prevent any risks or hazards and these include, but are not limited to spillages and safe use of equipment.
In the event we are unable to proceed with your class or corporate event due to circumstances beyond the control of Kirby’s, we are not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.
Examples of scenarios out of our control include but are not limited to: power outages, pandemics, acts of war/terrorism and extreme weather conditions.
In the event a class is cancelled due to power outage / extreme weather or acts of nature / scenarios beyond our control, we will attempt to reschedule the class. If you are unable to attend the new date, we will provide you a class credit to be used within 12 months or we will refund your money if you prefer and monies will be refunded within 72 hours of your request.
Our classes are non-refundable. Attending a class at Kirby’s is not dissimilar to attending a concert or professional sporting event, if you buy a ticket and can no longer attend the venue is unable to refund or credit you, nor let you change to an alternate event. However, you are welcome to transfer your place to a friend or family member – please advise us with a minimum of 24 hours notice of their name, contact number and any dietary requirements (please kindly do so via email: experiences@kirbys.com.au).
Our Kirby’s class experience is best enjoyed with a minimum of 12 guests in our Atelier to enable a volume of recipes to be on offer. If this number hasn’t been reached 7 days prior to the class, Kirby’s reserves the right to cancel it, in the event this may occur you will be offered a full refund, option to transfer to rescheduled date or select an alternate class – whichever is your preference.
Considerable attempts will be made via marketing and social media to reach minimum guest attendance before we would look to reschedule.
We invite you to be courteous to others and replace yourself in the event you are unwell given this is a hands-on group activity.
We may from time to time engage a photographer to capture our class experiences, in the event this may occur within your booked class we would seek your permission to do so via a release form and you are welcome to exclude yourself from any images captured that may then be used on social media or our website.
We ask of you yourself to be mindful of your class peers and ensure your own mobile device is on silent please and that if you wish to take any photos of the foods you prepare or class environment that you seek permission of surrounding guests if they are perhaps prepared to be in the image you capture.
– We are fully licensed, a stunning selection of Alkoomi wines will be available for purchase on the day. We will provide you complimentary sparkling water, chilled rain water and a selection of soft drinks with your meal.
Alcohol will not be served within our teaching environment, only after the dishes are prepared – alcohol will be offered in conjunction with food at all times.
Alcohol will only be offered to guests 18+ years of age and you are responsible for ensuring your conduct is socially acceptable in a public environment.
We will not tolerate guests who are violet, abusive, quarrelsome, disorderly or behaving indecently on our licensed premises.
We reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol to any guest. Further we reserve the right to ask you to leave if we deem, at our absolute discretion, that your behaviour is offensive, inappropriate or insulting.
Kirby’s (owners and employees) along with our guests are subject to adherence of any precautionary measures in place by either federal or state governments re: COVID-19 or any future pandemics.
We will not allow anyone to participate in classes or events if they are unwilling to comply with government guidelines. Refusal to comply will void any class credit, if applicable.
Currently masks are optional however we ask for the safety of all attendees and staff that you attend responsibly and substitute yourself in the event you have Covid – such group activities as cooking classes rely on you, the attendee, to be respectful of the health and safety of others.
